  18 - ADELAIDE SUMMER 2003

Hello here he is straight from work on Christmas Eve fixing
copiers, to Port Adelaide Outer Harbour. There were thousands
of people driving in a long convoy from all over South Australia
and beyond, to witness this impressive sight of the largest ship
to ever dock here. After reading all about this fabulous ship in
“The Adelaide Advertiser” newspaper, it definitely sounds appealing.

Many of the passengers were bused or chauffeur driven in
limousines to various parts of Adelaide or a day trip to such places
as The Barossa Valley for wine tasting or sightseeing. The visitors
to Adelaide were reported to have spent up to $1 million dollars
between them. It was the largest influx of people in one day. Before
returning to the Ship.

Hold on, what about all the influx of Aussie Rules Football
supporters that travel from Melbourne to watch there team get
hammered by Port Adelaide Power or Adelaide Crows! Oops
sorry, did I say hammered? I meant given a jolly good thrashing
by “The Power” or “The Crows” ‘Go the Power', ‘Go the Crows'.

Yes I am very biased towards our 2 South Australian teams.
(It is very controversial to support BOTH teams because the
crowds hate each other's teams with a vengeance! But I still
support both teams regardless and mean I go out so often.)
Especially at the “Showdowns” (Local derby) between the two
teams. It's always a sell out crowd and S.A. streets are vacated
as the whole state watches live or on TV. I love it to the maximum
and get too excited.
