Star Princess statistics: It is 290m in length. 109,000tons weight
is equal to 280 Qantas jumbo jets. Each of its 6 engines weighs
as much as 57 African elephants. At 18 storeys high it is too
tall to pass under The Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is bigger
than the world's largest aircraft carrier the 100'000 ton USS Nimitz.
At 61m it is higher than Niagara Falls. At 49m wide it is too
big to squeeze through the Panama Canal.
It has 1300 cabins, 710 with private balconies. On average, 70,000
dishes and 21,500 glasses are washed daily. This week I bumped
into my Avon lady Julie, who told me that she had frequently
travelled, with her husband to cruise the Pacific Ocean just for
fun! Apparently they do it so regularly that they probably have
their own balcony and executive suite, not to mention dinner
with the Captain! So this is what happens when I buy my
