Aboriginal Festival at Adelaide Oval 2001

There was a large Aboriginal Festival and concert held at the famous Adelaide Oval. This was attended by many people of all nationalities, who came to watch all the different events, taking place throughout the day.

This included an Aussie Rules football match, with an Aboriginal team verses a South Australian team. Plenty of children came and took part in a range of performances, as did the elders in the Aboriginal community. After the game, there was an excellent concert that went on till the night, starring a variety of indigenous singers, dancers and performers.

Here are a few photos, which I took. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stay more than about 3 hours due to other commitments. I will say that South Australia has a tremendous amount of festivals throughout the year, representing virtually all the diverse nationalities that live here.

There is just so much events taking place on a weekly basis, that I have difficulty trying to attend them all! I had to rush off to a crucial basketball match with some friends. Then after that it was out night clubbing with even more friends! It’s all too much for the human unit, but I wouldn’t change a thing. It is a privilege to be so spoilt for choice every weekend.
