The Globe Nightclub Perth
Friday 6th June 2003
Greetings all crew.
Just a quick update on recent reggae runnings, in OZ. On Friday,
6th June 2003, I flew to Perth for the first time to check out the reggae scene and I must say PERTH ROCKS FE REAL!!
A wild time was had by all. Special thank you to Julie & all of the HEARTBEAT sisterens who put on the show at The Globe Nightclub and decorated it completely with the Red, Gold & Green, colours everywhere...I thought I was still in Brixton Recreation Centre UK!
What a pleasant surprise to know that even in far flung corners of the world, Reggae music is being played to the fullness, with a very lively crowd yeah yeah yeah, ah so me like it vibes reach.
I must say I was very impressed with all the DJ's and their selection; nuff new brand up to date tunes & quite a few revivals. The sound system was heavy duty...just the way me love it, (so did the large crowd) gwaan Perth forward ahead! Freemantle posse hold tight!
Saturday de sun shined bright so the beach was a must and there were plenty of surfers riding the massive waves, very brave, (knew I should have taken my camcorder along with my camera). Later General Justice mashed up the airwaves as he normally does, from 6-9pm for the past 20 odd years with his "Jamdown Version" reggae radio show, along with bredrins DRUMMIE and VIBES and myself Jah Trinity, we even skanked round the studio...what a session!!
Yes I certainly loved Perth fe real, sad to leave on Sunday.
